Corsair CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 32GB Review
The Corsair Vengeance CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 is a 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36 desktop kit at 1.35V with an Intel XMP 3.0 profile, for a true latency of 12ns. Here is how it fits AM5 and Intel builds and how it compares with CL30 kits at the same speed.
This is a plain black 32GB DDR5-6000 kit at the loose end of the 6000MT/s range. CL36 works out to 12ns, and 69% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list are as tight or tighter. It runs the AM5 sweet-spot speed, but Corsair ships it with an XMP 3.0 profile only and lists Intel 700 and 800 series boards for compatibility, so AMD owners load XMP rather than EXPO. We recommend it when it costs clearly less than a CL30 kit like Corsair's own CMK32GX5M2B6000C30 or Kingston's FURY Beast KF560C30BBEK2-32. At the same money, take the CL30 kit.
Speed and Latency
CL36 at 6000MT/s works out to 12ns of true latency (36 x 2000 / 6000).
That is on the loose side for this speed. At the time of writing, 57% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list are strictly tighter, another 12% match it and 31% are looser.
Corsair does not publish full timings for this E variant, only CL36 at 1.35V, so compare it on CL and true latency rather than secondary timings.
Platform Fit
This is for DDR5 desktops: AMD AM5 on 600 or 800 series chipsets, and Intel 600, 700 or 800 series boards with DDR5 slots. It physically will not go into a DDR4 board.
On AM5, 6000MT/s keeps the memory controller at a 1:1 ratio, which is why it is the go-to speed for Ryzen 7000 and 9000. It has an Intel XMP 3.0 profile only. Most AM5 boards can still load XMP, but kits with EXPO are validated for AMD.
Out of the box it runs at the JEDEC default of 4800MT/s CL40 and 1.1V. Enable the XMP 3.0 profile in the BIOS to reach 6000MT/s CL36 at 1.35V.
Capacity and Configuration
It ships as two 16GB sticks, one per channel, the layout every consumer board runs best with.
If you might want more memory later, buy the bigger two-stick kit now. Four DDR5 modules rarely hold their rated speed.
32GB covers current games with a browser and Discord open, plus most photo and video work.
Build and Cooling
No RGB lighting, black aluminum heat spreader. Corsair calls it a compact, low-clearance design, but its spec page does not give a module height, so measure clearance under a big tower cooler before buying.
Corsair does not say whose DRAM chips are inside, so manual tuning headroom is unknown. The spec page lists an overclock PMIC.
Warranty: limited lifetime.
Speed Score
Speed Score: 7.3/10. The score blends transfer rate and true latency and only ranks DDR5 kits against each other.
For context, the CL30 version of this kit, the CMK32GX5M2B6000C30, scores 8.3, and G.Skill's Flare X5 F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5 at the same 6000 CL36 scores the same 7.3.
Compatibility: AMD
Corsair lists no AMD platforms and no EXPO profile for this kit. Most AM5 boards can load the XMP 3.0 profile anyway, and 6000MT/s is the speed Ryzen 7000 and 9000 run best at, so it is usable on AMD.
If you want a kit validated for AMD at the same rating, G.Skill's Flare X5 F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5 carries both XMP 3.0 and EXPO at 6000 CL36.
Compatibility: Intel
Corsair lists Intel 700 and 800 series motherboards as this kit's compatibility. Turn on XMP and it targets 6000MT/s on boards that allow memory overclocking.
Corsair also notes that maximum speed depends on the board and CPU, so a 6000MT/s rating is a target the platform has to train, not a guarantee.
Versus the competition
Corsair CMK32GX5M2B6000C30: same capacity and speed at CL30, so 10ns against 12ns, also XMP 3.0. Winner: the CL30 kit unless the price gap is large.
Kingston FURY Beast KF560C30BBEK2-32: 6000 CL30 at 1.4V, 34.9mm tall, with XMP 3.0 and EXPO. Winner for AM5.
G.Skill Flare X5 F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5: the same 12ns, plus EXPO and a 33mm height. Winner if you want CL36 on AMD.
Our verdict
Reviewed by Burooj Alam. Rated by us, not by users.
Best for
- AM5 or Intel builds that want 6000MT/s for less than a CL30 kit
- Clean builds without RGB
Not for
- Latency-focused builds: 69% of desktop DDR5 kits are as tight or tighter
- AMD buyers who want an EXPO-validated kit: XMP 3.0 only
- Manual timing tuning: memory chips are not disclosed
- Adding a second kit later for four sticks

FAQs
Is the Corsair CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 compatible with my motherboard?
It fits DDR5 desktop boards: AMD AM5 and Intel 600, 700 and 800 series boards with DDR5 slots. Corsair's own compatibility list names Intel 700 and 800 series. It does not fit DDR4 boards.
Is 6000MT/s CL36 a good combination?
It is fine but not tight. It works out to 12ns true latency, and 69% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list are as tight or tighter. CL30 kits at the same speed reach 10ns.
Why does it run at 4800MT/s instead of 6000MT/s?
4800MT/s CL40 at 1.1V is the JEDEC default stored on the modules. Enable the XMP 3.0 profile in the BIOS to run at 6000MT/s CL36 and 1.35V.
Does the CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 support AMD EXPO?
No. Corsair lists an XMP 3.0 profile only. Most AM5 boards can load XMP anyway, but if you want EXPO at the same 6000 CL36 rating, look at the G.Skill Flare X5 F5-6000J3636F16GX2-FX5.
What is the difference between CMK32GX5M2E6000C36 and CMK32GX5M2B6000C30?
Latency. Both are 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 Vengeance kits with XMP 3.0 and no RGB. The B6000C30 runs CL30 for 10ns true latency; this E6000C36 runs CL36 for 12ns.
Can I add a second kit later for four sticks?
It is not recommended. Four DDR5 sticks usually run well below their rated speed. Buy the total capacity you need as one two-stick kit.
