Corsair CMK48GX5M2B5200C38 Review
At DDR5-5200, the Corsair CMK48GX5M2B5200C38 is a 48GB (2x24GB) desktop memory kit rated CL38, for a true latency of 14.6ns.
Speed and Latency
The number that matters is true latency, not CL alone. Here it is 38 / (5200 / 2) x 1000 = 14.6ns. It is not a latency pick. 90% of the desktop DDR5 kits in our catalog are as tight or tighter.
Platform Fit
This is for DDR5 desktops: AMD AM5 on 600 or 800 series chipsets, and Intel 600, 700 or 800 series boards with DDR5 slots. It physically will not go into a DDR4 board. 5200MT/s runs on any DDR5 board, but AM5 builds get lower latency from a 6000MT/s kit. Profiles: XMP 3.0.
Capacity and Configuration
The two 24GB modules give you dual channel with two slots used. Plan capacity now: adding a second kit for four DDR5 sticks usually forces the memory down well below its rated speed. At 48GB you have room for gaming, streaming and editing without running short.
Build and Cooling
Corsair does not publish the module height, so check your cooler's RAM clearance if you use a large air cooler. Corsair does not disclose which memory chips are used, which matters mainly if you plan to tune timings by hand.
Speed Score
Our DDR5 Speed Score for this kit is 5.5 out of 10, rated from its transfer rate and true latency against other DDR5 kits. Scores only compare within the same DDR generation.

FAQs
Is the Corsair CMK48GX5M2B5200C38 compatible with my motherboard?
It fits DDR5 desktop boards (AMD AM5, Intel 600, 700 and 800 series with DDR5 slots). It does not fit DDR4 boards.
Is 5200MT/s CL38 a good combination?
It works out to 14.6ns true latency. That is tighter than 10% of the desktop DDR5 kits we list.
Can I add a second kit later for four sticks?
It is not recommended. Four DDR5 sticks usually run well below their rated speed. Buy the total capacity you need as one two-stick kit.
Is 5200MT/s good for AMD Ryzen 7000 and 9000?
It works on AM5. A 6000MT/s kit gives slightly lower latency on Ryzen 7000 and 9000.
