Corsair SHUGO DDR5 Review
Searching for Corsair SHUGO DDR5, the 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL28 kit? SHUGO is Corsair's new collectible, artist-collaboration DDR5 line, launched as a controlled, limited release starting in May 2026 and now shipping in the Onyx Blade and Sakura Noa colorways.
The headline spec that matters: CL28 at DDR5-6000 is unusually tight. Most DDR5-6000 kits, including Corsair's own Dominator and Vengeance lines, run CL30 to CL36 at that speed, so a true latency of 28 is a genuinely aggressive bin, not a marketing rounding trick. If tight timings at DDR5-6000 are your only goal non-collectible kits from other brands hit similar CL28-32 numbers for less.
The CL28 Claim, and What We Could and Couldn't Verify
Corsair's own product page confirms a tested speed of 6000 MT/s at CL28 with a tested voltage of 1.40V, on top of an SPD baseline of 4800 MT/s CL40 at 1.1V (the JEDEC-safe boot profile before XMP/EXPO kicks in). That CL28 figure is real and Corsair-published, not a rumor. What we couldn't find publicly at the time of this listing is the full secondary timing string (tRCD, tRP, tRAS), which most enthusiast RAM listings publish alongside CAS latency. We're flagging that gap rather than inventing plausible-looking numbers.
Collectible Positioning vs Raw Performance Value
SHUGO is explicitly marketed as a design-and-collectibility play: a patented aluminum heat spreader with micro-drilled light diffusion, RGB lighting, two colorways (Onyx Blade and Sakura Noa), and bundled LEK accessories that ship alongside the memory itself. Corsair announced the line in a controlled rollout back in May 2026 before this wider retail listing. If you want the SHUGO look and the collectible angle, that's the point.
Comparison to Alternatives
We don't yet carry a directly comparable enthusiast DDR5-6000 CL28 kit from another brand in this catalog to put head-to-head, which is itself worth noting: this is genuinely tighter-latency territory than most of what's currently listed. The closest points of reference we do carry are Silicon Power's XPOWER Zenith RGB and XPOWER Turbine RGB kits (both DDR4-3200 CL16, an older generation with different latency math entirely) and OWC's 32GB DDR5-4800 ECC UDIMM, which is a workstation ECC part built for Mac Pro compatibility, not a gaming/overclocking kit, so it's not a fair apples-to-apples comparison either.
Our verdict

Expert rating7.4 / 10
The CL28 timing at DDR5-6000 is a genuinely strong, verifiable spec, tighter than Corsair's own mainstream DDR5-6000 kits.
Best for
- Corsair collectors who want the SHUGO artist-series design and bundled LEK accessories
- Builders who specifically want a verified CL28 timing at DDR5-6000 and don't mind paying a design premium for it
- RGB-focused builds already committed to the Onyx Blade or Sakura Noa aesthetic
Not for
- Value-focused buyers who just want the tightest CL28-32 DDR5-6000 timings for the lowest price
- Workstation or ECC use cases, since this is a standard UDIMM gaming kit, not the kind of part OWC's ECC UDIMM serves
- Buyers who want a fully published secondary timing sheet before purchasing, since Corsair hasn't listed tRCD/tRP/tRAS for this kit yet
