HP Laptop 17 Review

HP Laptop 17 (17-cn3xxx) with Core i5-1334U, 8GB DDR4 in a single SO-DIMM slot and a 17.3-inch 1080p IPS display.

HP's large-screen budget laptop, with only a single RAM slot -- an 8GB upgrade means replacing the module rather than adding one.

Overview

The 17-cn3xxx offers the largest screen in HP's budget range at the lowest price point, with a single RAM slot and a single M.2 SSD slot.

Expert rating6.2 / 10

The HP 17-cn3 is about screen size. It has a 17.3-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS display, a Core i5-1334U and 8GB of DDR4, which gives you plenty of room for spreadsheets, documents and side-by-side windows at a desk.

At 1.98 kg with a 41 Wh battery, it is not a laptop to carry around all day. Both RAM slots are filled and the maximum is 16GB, so memory is a limit. It also has WiFi 5 and no Thunderbolt.

  • Buyers who want the largest screen at the lowest price
