HP Laptop 15-fd vs HP Laptop 17: Comparison
Laptop 15-fd vs Laptop 17: the series id difference
Series id is the dividing line, Laptop 15-fd hp-laptop-15-fd against Laptop 17 hp-laptop-17-cn3xxx.
Who each one is for
The Laptop 15-fd suits A same-day DDR5 RAM upgrade to 32GB and light AI-assisted workloads that benefit from the on-die NPU, though it is not the pick for sustained heavy workloads or gaming and buyers who want all-day battery life. It is equally the pick for buyers who want the newer Core Ultra platform in this chassis. Avoid it for anyone trying to reuse DDR4 RAM from the older 15-fd configuration. Buy the Laptop 17 for buyers who want the largest screen at the lowest price, though it is the wrong buy for portability and dual-channel RAM performance. Our rating of the Laptop 15-fd (6.9/10): this HP 15-fd uses a Core Ultra 5 125U with 16GB of DDR5 in SO-DIMM form, one slot free and support up to 32GB. The 15.6-inch 1920 x 1080 IPS screen and 1.69 kg weight make it a practical everyday laptop that can take a quick RAM upgrade. Do not mix it up with older 15-fd models, because this one takes DDR5 rather than DDR4.
