The top configuration of the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition pairs an Intel Core Ultra 7 258V with 32GB of soldered LPDDR5X-8533 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD and a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen at 120Hz.
Same 1.12kg chassis as the base configuration, meaningfully better display and double the memory. The OLED touch panel and 120Hz refresh are the reasons to pay more here; the CPU is a modest step up, not the headline change.
Performance
The Core Ultra 7 258V is one Lunar Lake bin above the 256V, mainly in guaranteed boost clocks rather than core count. Neither Lenovo nor a third party has published a sustained combined power figure for this chassis, so expect thermal throttling under any prolonged all-core load.
Upgradability
RAM: no. All 32GB of LPDDR5X-8533 is soldered and not upgradable, per Lenovo's own documentation. Storage: no free slot. One M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, already populated with the 1TB drive.
Battery life
Same 57Wh battery as the base configuration, now driving a higher-resolution OLED panel at up to 120Hz. Expect somewhat shorter runtime than the WUXGA configuration under identical use, though Lenovo has not published a directly comparable figure.
Display
The 2.8K OLED touchscreen is the reason to choose this configuration. HDR peak brightness of 400 nits and full sRGB coverage make this genuinely usable for photo review and colour-sensitive work, something the WUXGA panel cannot do.

Identical chassis, weight and port selection to the base configuration: Thunderbolt 4, WiFi 7, 1.12kg. The only physical difference is the display module and its touch digitizer.
