NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 (NVIDIA/Blackwell/Entry-Level/8GB GDDR7/~3,840 CUDA Cores/145W TDP/Ray Tracing/$299 MSRP) Review

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 is an entry-level Blackwell-architecture graphics card with 8GB of GDDR7 memory, approximately 3,840 CUDA cores, a 145W TDP, ray tracing support, and a $299 MSRP.

This is the entry point into Blackwell, and it's genuinely aimed at 1080p gaming, not a "budget 1440p" pitch. 8GB of VRAM at this price tier is workable for now, we won't pretend it'll age as gracefully as the 5060 Ti 16GB above it. At 145W TDP it's the lowest in our new GPU additions, playing nicely with modest PSUs and smaller cases.

Built for 1080p, Full Stop

At 145W and 8GB VRAM, this card is scoped for 1080p gaming, don't buy it expecting comfortable 1440p performance in newer titles.

The Value Pitch

$299 gets you into ray tracing and DLSS features at the true entry level, that's the actual selling point here, not raw horsepower.

Power Requirements

145W TDP, the lowest in our new GPU additions, plays nicely with modest PSUs and smaller cases.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against our own RTX 5060 Ti 16GB, the Ti costs more but the VRAM difference alone makes it the better long-term buy if you can stretch the budget. Against Intel's Arc B570, also new to our catalog, the B570 undercuts it on price with more VRAM, worth cross-shopping if you're not locked into NVIDIA's software ecosystem.

Expert rating7 / 10

The true entry point into Blackwell — DLSS and ray tracing at $299, but the 8GB of VRAM means the 5060 Ti 16GB is the smarter long-term buy if the budget stretches.

Best for

  • 1080p budget builds that still want DLSS and ray tracing support.
  • First-time builders on a tight GPU budget.

Not for

  • 1440p gaming, the 5060 Ti 16GB is a smarter buy if you can afford it.
  • Anyone planning to keep this card for many years without an upgrade, 8GB VRAM will show its age.
