Who each one is for
The Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO is the one to take for budget-conscious desks needing basic isolated switching between 4 DVI machines and legacy DVI workstations that haven't moved to DisplayPort/HDMI, though it is not built for users needing simultaneous multi-screen viewing (see the CCS-MV4224) and modern DisplayPort/HDMI-only hardware. Avoid it for desks requiring formal NIAP/Common Criteria certification (see the Cybex SC800 line). The Vertiv (Avocent) Avocent SC740 suits government and defense desks needing entry-tier NIAP-certified isolation and IT teams standardizing on Vertiv's SC700 security platform, though it is not the pick for desks needing HDMI instead of DisplayPort (see the SC945H) and anyone wanting audio switching. It is equally the pick for 4-computer secure setups on a tighter budget than the SC900 series. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO (7/10): an affordable way to add isolated switching to a 4-port DVI desk without paying for certification or multiviewer features. Our rating of the Vertiv (Avocent) Avocent SC740 (7/10): A solid entry point into certified secure KVM switching for a standard 4-computer desk.
