Which should you buy, Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO or SmartAVI SM-EDPN-2D-S?

The Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO is the one to take for budget-conscious desks needing basic isolated switching between 4 DVI machines and legacy DVI workstations that haven't moved to DisplayPort/HDMI, though it is not built for users needing simultaneous multi-screen viewing (see the CCS-MV4224) and modern DisplayPort/HDMI-only hardware. It is not the one for desks requiring formal NIAP/Common Criteria certification (see the Cybex SC800 line). Buy the SmartAVI SM-EDPN-2D-S for dual-monitor two-PC DisplayPort desks and buyers wanting EDPN-line features at entry pricing, though it is the wrong buy for quad-monitor requirements (see SM-EDPN-2Q-S) and four or more system deployments. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder ADDERView PRO (7/10): an affordable way to add isolated switching to a 4-port DVI desk without paying for certification or multiviewer features. Our rating of the SmartAVI SM-EDPN-2D-S (7.8/10): A solid, discounted entry point into SmartAVI's EDPN dual-head DisplayPort line for two-system desks.
