Dell G15 5530 vs MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK: Comparison
Dell G15 5530 vs MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK refresh rate compared
The gap that matters here is refresh rate: Dell G15 5530 165 Hz against MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK 144 Hz, which puts Dell G15 5530 13% ahead.
Which should you buy, Dell G15 5530 or MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK?
The Dell G15 5530 is the one to take for budget 1080p gaming and storage upgraders wanting a cheap SATA add-on, though it is not the pick for 1440p gaming and thin/light preference. The MSI Katana 15 HX B14WGK suits esports players prioritizing 144Hz over 4K resolution, though it is the wrong buy for buyers who need Thunderbolt or an external GPU dock. It is equally the pick for 1080p gamers who want RTX 50-series graphics at a mainstream price. It is the wrong buy for anyone who plans to add a second storage drive later, only one M.2 slot. Our rating of the Dell G15 5530 (7.9/10): the G15 5530 has a Core i7-13650HX, an RTX 40 series GPU with 8GB of VRAM and 16GB of DDR5 in SO-DIMM slots. The 15.6-inch 1080p IPS panel runs at 165Hz, the 86Wh battery is large and there is a free storage slot. It suits 1080p gaming and CPU-heavy work. It weighs 2.85 kg and has no Thunderbolt port. The 1080p panel limits 1440p gaming, and the size is wrong for anyone wanting a thin, light machine.
Where the two are identical
The common ground is wider than the gap: region sold, laptop class, operating system, cpu brand and sustained power source are identical here. They match on 16 further specifications as well.
