Who each one is for
The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 is the one to take for IT-serviced corporate fleets, though it is not built for graphics-intensive work. The Microsoft Surface Laptop 7 13.8" for suits Business buyers standardizing on a compact, Copilot+-certified laptop and IT departments that want a serviceable (if not expandable) SSD, though it is not the pick for anyone wanting to add RAM after purchase, it's soldered and buyers needing a second internal storage slot. It also earns its place with anyone who values a 3:2, 120Hz touchscreen for note-taking and reading. Our rating of the Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 (7.5/10): the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 is a straightforward corporate laptop with a Core Ultra 7 155U, 16GB of DDR5 and a 14-inch 1920x1080 IPS screen at 1.38 kg. A free SO-DIMM slot supports up to 64GB, and Thunderbolt 4 with WiFi 6E covers docking and wireless. Graphics are integrated, so keep it away from heavy 3D or creative work. There is one M.2 slot and it is occupied by the 512GB drive, and the 60Hz 57Wh configuration is competent rather than exciting.
Where the two are identical
The common ground is wider than the gap: region sold, laptop class, operating system, cpu brand and sustained power source are identical here. They match on 10 further specifications as well.
