Acer Nitro V 14 AI ANV14-62 Review
The Acer Nitro V 14 AI ANV14-62 is a 14.5-inch gaming laptop from 2025 built around the AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU. The screen is a 1920x1200 IPS panel at 120Hz. It weighs 1.73 kg.
What it does well: a color-accurate screen, long battery life (13 hours 8 minutes of Wi-Fi browsing) and a free M.2 slot. Where it falls short: loud fans under load (57 dB(A)) and no Thunderbolt.
Processor performance
Measurements come from NotebookCheck's review unit ANV14-62-R9LT with the Ryzen AI 5 340, a 60 W RTX 5050, 16GB of DDR5 and a 1TB SSD.
The AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 has 6 cores (3 performance and 3 efficiency), boosting to 4.8 GHz. It is quick for everyday work and light editing, but heavy multi-core jobs such as long renders take noticeably longer than on newer high-core chips. Its NPU is rated at 50 TOPS for on-device AI features.
NotebookCheck measured about 50W of sustained CPU power in this chassis. Makers publish the chip rating, but this sustained figure is what long exports actually get. Across the 2 systems NotebookCheck has tested with the AMD Ryzen AI 5 340, it averages 668 points in Cinebench 2024 multi-core (range 652 to 684) and 112.5 single-core. Where this laptop lands in that range depends on how much power it lets the chip draw.
Graphics and gaming
The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU has 8GB of VRAM and draws up to 60W here. The same GPU name covers a wide power range across laptops, so this wattage matters more than the model number.
The RTX 5050 is held to a lower power limit than in many larger laptops, so the GPU cannot reach its full potential in this chassis.
Gaming (average across systems). These are NotebookCheck's average frame rates for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop across every system it has tested with this GPU, not this laptop alone. Power limits differ between laptops, so this one can land above or below the average.
| Game | Settings | Average fps | Systems tested |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cyberpunk 2077 | Ultra, 1080p | 68 | 10 |
| Cyberpunk 2077 | Ultra, 1440p | 43 | 3 |
| Baldur's Gate 3 | Ultra, 1080p | 78 | 10 |
Memory, storage and upgrades
Memory: upgradeable. 2 SO-DIMM slots, both filled. It takes DDR5-5600, up to 32GB in total.
Storage: room for a second drive. 2 M.2 slots, 1 free (M.2 2280), M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0.
Two SO-DIMM slots and two full-size M.2 slots make RAM and storage easy to expand, though the bottom cover needs prying loose after removing seven Phillips screws.

Display
The 14.5-inch IPS panel runs at 1920x1200 (156 pixels per inch) and 120Hz. It is rated at 300 nits. NotebookCheck measured 312 nits and 1,320:1 contrast. Color coverage is 98.5% sRGB and 68.9% P3, good enough for photo and video work. Response time is 18.8 ms. No PWM flicker was detected.
The screen is only moderately bright but covers nearly the full sRGB range with well balanced colors out of the box.
Thermals and noise
NotebookCheck measured 57 dB(A) under load and 28 dB(A) at idle. Plan on headphones when gaming. The hottest surface reached 51 °C, warm enough to notice on your lap.
Fan noise is already noticeable at idle in Performance mode and very loud while gaming, so Balanced mode is the better everyday choice with little performance loss. The palm rests stay cool while gaming and the whole chassis stays below 30 degrees C at idle, while the underside warms up more than the top under load.
Battery life
The battery is 76Wh, smaller than 66% of the gaming laptops we list. NotebookCheck got 13 hours 8 minutes of Wi-Fi browsing. acer.com's own battery rating: Up to 11 hours (Acer, RTX 5060 SKU).
Wi-Fi battery life is the standout, beating almost every competing gaming laptop NotebookCheck compared it with.
Design and build
Materials: All-plastic chassis in white. At 1.73 kg it is lighter than every other gaming laptop we list. It measures 325.7x236.8x13.9-21.9 mm.
The white plastic design looks fresh and hides fingerprints, but some surfaces give noticeably under firm pressure.
Keyboard and touchpad
The rubber-dome keys have a passable but unremarkable feel, most keys are sensibly sized apart from the small function row, and extra media and NitroSense keys sit along the right edge. Backlight: Single color.
The 12.6 x 7.8 cm touchpad is large for a 14-inch laptop and usable, though its surface could glide more easily.
Ports and connectivity
There is no Thunderbolt, but 1x USB4 40Gbps ports cover most of the same docks and fast drives.
Full list: 1x USB4 40Gbps USB-C, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, 1x HDMI 2.1, 1x microSD card reader, 1x 3.5mm audio combo jack, DC-in, Kensington lock slot. Wireless: Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The microSD reader runs only at USB 2.0 speeds, while the Full HD webcam is a little sharper than many rivals.
Which configuration to buy
The Acer Nitro V 14 AI ANV14-62 name covers several builds. Processors: AMD Ryzen AI 5 340 and AMD Ryzen AI 7 350. Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 Laptop. Memory: 16GB or 32GB DDR5-5600 in two SO-DIMM slots, up to 32GB per Acer. Screens: 14.5-inch 1920x1200 IPS 120Hz, 300 nits; 14.5-inch 2560x1600 IPS 165Hz, 300 nits, 100% sRGB. Check the exact configuration on the listing before you buy.
Current as of this search: NotebookCheck reviewed the RTX 5050 version in July 2026 and Acer UK lists RTX 50 series ANV14-62 SKUs, although Acer's US series page still describes the model with up to an RTX 4050.

Expert rating7.9 / 10
The Nitro V 14 AI combines a Ryzen AI 5 340 with RTX 50 series graphics, 16GB of DDR5 and a 1TB drive. At 1.728 kg with a 76Wh battery and a 14.5 inch 120Hz IPS screen, it is portable for a gaming laptop and has a second storage slot free.
The display is 1920 by 1200 at 300 nits, so it is not the brightest panel for creative work. It is also a poor fit for quiet rooms under heavy load.
Best for
- 1080p gaming at high settings
- Photo and video editing on the built-in screen
- A full day away from the charger
- Adding a second SSD
Not for
- Quiet rooms under heavy load
