Acer Nitro V 15 ANV15-52

Measurements come from NotebookCheck's review unit ANV15-52-50S2 with the Core i5-13420H, RTX 5050, 16GB of DDR4 and a 1TB SSD.

The Intel Core i5-13420H has 8 cores (4 performance and 4 efficiency), boosting to 4.6 GHz. Office work, study, browsing and 1080p editing run smoothly; long 4K exports and big builds take a while.

NotebookCheck measured about 50W of sustained CPU power in this chassis. The chassis limit, not the chip rating, is what decides long render times. Across the 4 systems NotebookCheck has tested with the Intel Core i5-13420H, it averages 496 points in Cinebench 2024 multi-core (range 450 to 528) and 98.7 single-core. Where this laptop lands in that range depends on how much power it lets the chip draw.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU has 8GB of VRAM and draws up to 75W here. The same GPU name covers a wide power range across laptops, so this wattage matters more than the model number.

Gaming (average across systems). These are NotebookCheck's average frame rates for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop across every system it has tested with this GPU, not this laptop alone. Power limits differ between laptops, so this one can land above or below the average.

Memory: upgradeable. 2 SO-DIMM slots, both filled. It takes DDR4-3200, up to 32GB in total.

Storage: replaceable. One M.2 slot, already in use (M.2 2280), M.2 NVMe PCIe 4.0.

Both RAM modules sit in SO-DIMM slots and the SSD is a regular M.2 drive, so memory and storage can be upgraded after removing 11 Phillips screws from the bottom panel. The 1TB Kingston SSD loses speed during long sustained transfers, an issue NotebookCheck also saw on some competitors.

The 15.6-inch IPS panel runs at 1920x1080 (141 pixels per inch) and 165Hz. NotebookCheck measured 347 nits and 1,232:1 contrast. It covers 60.3% of sRGB (40.3% P3), so colors look muted and it is not suited to color work. Response time is 20.8 ms. No PWM flicker was detected.

NotebookCheck measured 54 dB(A) under load and 28 dB(A) at idle. Under full load it is loud enough to need headphones. The hottest surface reached 49 °C, warm enough to notice on your lap.

Under load the fans run a bit louder than most competitors in Performance mode, but Balanced mode cuts gaming noise clearly while giving up little performance. The keyboard deck stays cool while gaming and the palm rests remain below skin temperature, while the underside gets warm.

The battery is 76Wh, smaller than 66% of the gaming laptops we list. NotebookCheck got 5 hours 28 minutes of Wi-Fi browsing, but only 54 minutes under full load. acer.com's own battery rating: Up to 8 hours (Acer).

Even with a far larger battery than the ANV15-51 predecessor, Wi-Fi runtime came out shorter than on that older model.

Materials: All-plastic chassis with a textured lid. At 2.10 kg it is lighter than 93% of the gaming laptops we list. It measures 362.3x239.9x15.7-23.5 mm. The hinges feel a little loose.

The all-plastic body is mostly well finished with an attractive textured lid, though some areas flex noticeably.

The rubber-dome keyboard types in an ordinary way, but the number pad has only three columns, the arrow keys are small and the amber backlight stays fairly dim even at its brightest setting. Backlight: Amber, single color.

The Precision touchpad is fairly large at 12.6 x 7.8 cm but sounds a little rattly when clicked.

It has 1x Thunderbolt 4, which runs docks, fast external drives and displays over one cable.

Screens: 15.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS 165Hz; 15.6-inch 1920x1080 IPS up to 180Hz with up to 100% sRGB. Check the exact configuration on the listing before you buy.

Still sold: Acer's US Nitro V 15 page lists ANV15-52 models with RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 GPUs at the time of this search, although Acer has since added a separate Nitro V 15 ANV15-A31 that LaptopMedia reviewed in August 2026.
