ADATA Legend 970 Review

The ADATA Legend 970 offers a lower-cost entry into PCIe 4.0 NVMe storage, trading some of the top-end speed of ADATA's XPG gaming sub-brand for a more accessible price aimed at everyday desktop and laptop upgrades.

At up to 5,000 MB/s read and 4,500 MB/s write, this drive delivers a genuine step up over SATA and PCIe 3.0 storage without reaching the top of the PCIe 4.0 speed tier, appropriate for general computing rather than the most demanding gaming or creative workloads. Against the ADATA XPG Gammix S70 Blade, covered elsewhere on this site, that drive delivers meaningfully higher speed for gaming and creative work at a correspondingly higher price. Against the WD Blue SN580, also covered elsewhere on this site, both target similar budget-conscious everyday-upgrade buyers.
