If you're looking at PowerColor's own Gaming Station eGPU enclosure, since PowerColor is better known for making the GPUs that go inside these boxes,

it's a solid, no-frills Thunderbolt 3 enclosure with good port selection for the era, but it's an older design now and PowerColor hasn't refreshed it for Thunderbolt 4/5, so it only makes sense if you can find remaining stock cheap.

What It Actually Is

PowerColor, primarily a Radeon board partner, released the Gaming Station as its own take on the Thunderbolt 3 eGPU box: a 500W internal supply, room for full-length dual-slot cards, three USB 3.0 ports, and Gigabit Ethernet. It's a straightforward aluminum enclosure without any RGB or gimmicks, similar in spirit to the AKiTiO Node line.

Comparison to Alternatives

Against the AKiTiO Node Titan, the Gaming Station has a similar port count and PSU but slightly less charging power (60W versus 85W). It never received a Thunderbolt 4/5 successor the way Razer or Sonnet's lines did, so anyone shopping new in 2026 should look at the Sonnet eGFX Breakaway Box 650 or Razer Core X Chroma for a fresher equivalent.
