Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO vs Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX: Comparison
What is the difference between Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO and Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX?
The gap that matters here is max resolution: Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO 1920x1200 against Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX 3840x2160, which puts Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX 72% ahead. Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX also leads on max resolution single display, 1920x1200 on the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO versus 3840x2160 on the Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX. Kvm segment is not the same on both, Desk on the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO versus Extender on the Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX.
Which should you buy, Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO or Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX?
Buy the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not the pick for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It also earns its place with control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. It is the wrong buy for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. The Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX is the one to take for completing an EXT-DPKA-LANS-TX sender's extension link and budget-conscious 4K DisplayPort workstation extension, though it is the wrong buy for buyers without a matching EXT-DPKA-LANS-TX sender and 5K resolution needs, where ATEN's KX9970R fits better. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the Gefen EXT-DPKA-LANS-RX (7/10): A budget-friendly 4K DisplayPort receiver, pair it with the matching EXT-DPKA-LANS-TX sender for a complete, affordable extension kit.
