AMD Instinct MI250 vs Intel UHD Graphics 770: Comparison
AMD Instinct MI250 vs Intel UHD Graphics 770: the boost clock difference
Boost clock is where these two genuinely part company, AMD Instinct MI250 1700 MHz against Intel UHD Graphics 770 1450 MHz, a 15% lead for AMD Instinct MI250. They differ on memory type too, HBM2E on the AMD Instinct MI250 versus Shared System Memory on the Intel UHD Graphics 770. Compute blocks is not the same on both, 208 on the AMD Instinct MI250 versus 32 on the Intel UHD Graphics 770. Pcie generation is not the same on both, PCIe 4.0 on the AMD Instinct MI250 versus Not Applicable on the Intel UHD Graphics 770.
Who each one is for
Buy the AMD Instinct MI250 for buyers comparing AMD's official reference specifications and researching a chip before choosing a board-partner card, though it is not the pick for overclocking-focused enthusiasts (reference clocks only). Avoid it for buyers wanting a specific retail card with cooler and warranty details. The Intel UHD Graphics 770 suits office, productivity, and multi-monitor desktop use with no gaming requirement, though it is not built for any gaming beyond the lightest older or 2D titles. It is equally the pick for anyone who already knows they'll add a discrete card and just needs display output until then. It is the wrong buy for anyone comparing integrated GPU gaming capability, AMD's 780M/760M are meaningfully stronger. Our rating of the Intel UHD Graphics 770 (3/10): Intel's standard desktop integrated GPU across two CPU generations, fine for display output and productivity, not a gaming GPU by any measure.
