Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO vs Adder Technology Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple: Comparison
Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO vs Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple: the computers supported difference
Computers supported is the dividing line, Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO 4 computers, cascadable to 8 against Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple 4 computers. There is a split on video standard as well, DVI-I / VGA on the Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO versus VGA on the Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple.
Who each one is for
Buy the Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not the pick for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It is equally the pick for control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. It is the wrong buy for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. The Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple suits legacy trading or control-room desks still running VGA triple-monitor spreads and facilities not ready to upgrade to digital DVI/DisplayPort monitors, though it is not built for modern digital monitor installations (the DVI variant looks sharper) and anyone needing a fourth monitor head (see the VGA-Quad variant). Our rating of the Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the Adder AV4PRO-VGA-Triple (7/10): A cost-effective way to keep a legacy triple-VGA trading desk running without a full monitor refresh.
