Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO vs Black Box KVS4-8001HX: which one fits your build

Buy the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not built for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It is equally the pick for control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. Avoid it for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. The Black Box KVS4-8001HX is the one to take for government procurement requiring formal NIAP certification and single classified HDMI host isolation, though it is not the pick for multi-host switching needs and DVI-native infrastructure (see KVS4-8001VX). Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the Black Box KVS4-8001HX (8.5/10): the right pick when formal NIAP certification documentation is a hard procurement requirement for a single HDMI host.
