Which should you buy, Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO or IOGEAR GCS1204?

Buy the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not the pick for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It is equally the pick for control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. It is not the one for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. it is the wrong buy for buyers needing dual-view or fast USB 3.0 peripheral transfers. It also earns its place with desks switching between four DisplayPort computers on a single monitor without needing USB 3.0. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the IOGEAR GCS1204 (7/10): A straightforward 4-port DisplayPort KVM switch for single-monitor desks that don't need USB 3.0 speeds.

Where the two are identical

Where they agree, they agree completely, usb hub ports, audio support, displays per computer and kvm segment included, so the decision does not turn on any of those.
