Which should you buy, Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO or IOGEAR GCS1944?

Buy the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not the pick for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It also earns its place with control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. It is the wrong buy for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. Take the IOGEAR GCS1944 for multi-monitor desks controlling four computers that need both displays active from any source. It is not the one for single-monitor users who don't need dual-view, since simpler 4-port switches cost less. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the IOGEAR GCS1944 (8/10): A dual-view 4-port DisplayPort KVM switch with fast USB 3.1 hub ports, built for setups that need two monitors across four machines.
