Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO AV4PRO vs Black Box Emerald EMD4000T: Comparison

Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO vs Black Box Emerald EMD4000T: the max resolution difference

Start with max resolution, because it is the widest measured gap between them: Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO 1920x1200 against Black Box Emerald EMD4000T 4096x2160, 74% in favour of Black Box Emerald EMD4000T. Black Box Emerald EMD4000T also leads on max resolution single display, 1920x1200 on the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO versus 4096x2160 on the Black Box Emerald EMD4000T.

Which should you buy, Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO or Black Box Emerald EMD4000T?

Buy the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO for broadcast and security operations needing rack-mounted, RS232-controllable switching, though it is not the pick for single-desk users who only need to switch between two computers and buyers needing HDMI or DisplayPort instead of DVI/VGA. It is equally the pick for control room and NOC operators managing 4-8 machines across multiple monitors. It is not the one for budget shoppers, since modular head configurations cost more than a fixed 4-port switch. The Black Box Emerald EMD4000T suits 4K DisplayPort workstations needing network-routed extension and secure equipment rooms keeping PCs away from the desk, though it is not built for buyers without a matching EMD4000R receiver. Avoid it for HDMI or sub-4K resolution needs, where Adder's ALIF1104T is far cheaper. Our rating of the Adder Technology Adder AdderView PRO (8/10): A serious modular KVM built for control rooms that need to scale past 4 computers, overkill for a simple desk setup. Our rating of the Black Box Emerald EMD4000T (8/10): A capable 4K DisplayPort transmitter for serious network-routed KVM deployments, compare against ATEN's cheaper 5K KX9970T before committing.
